Chinese ginseng Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer) due to its properties is called the all-medicine, divine herb, the wonder of the world, the cure for everything. This herb has been known for over 4,000 years. Despite the passage of years, ginseng is still considered one of the healthiest and most comprehensive herbs, almost a panacea for all ailments. Hence, it has been used as an ingredient in dietary supplements, medical devices, and a component of herbal teas. Ginseng is a plant grown in Asia. Its most valuable variety is white ginseng. The name ginseng comes from a Chinese word that refers to the human shape of the rhizome. Ginseng root contains over 200 biologically active substances that soothe various ailments.

Substances contained in ginseng roots
Ginsenosides (saponins such as dammaran, oleanolic acid and ocotillol) play an essential role, which increase the ability of hemoglobin to attach oxygen and thus help to better supply the body with oxygen. As a consequence, the amount of energy and the body's ability to mental and physical effort increase. Ginsenosides strengthen the immune system, making us resistant to various infections. Ginseng contains vitamins C, E, B vitamins (thiamine, riboflavin, cobalamin), polyphenols, phytosterols, essential oils, sugars, minerals (magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, iron, zinc, silicon).
Properties of ginseng
Ginseng action:
- antioxidant, so anti-radical, anti-cancer
- stimulates the heart
- lowers LDL cholesterol and increases HDL (the good one)
- lowers blood sugar (helps produce insulin)
- anti-clotting
- increases libido (helps with erectile dysfunction)
- increases the body's resistance (including stress)
- adds energy, increases physical and intellectual abilities
- delays the aging process, relieves the symptoms of andropause and menopause
- lowers the level of lactic acid in the muscles, which is especially useful for athletes
- improves memory, learning ability, concentration
Don't overdo it though. People with hemophilia, high blood pressure, heart problems, struggling with insomnia, pregnant women, children, taking warfarin, "fever", "fierce" coffee drinkers (interaction) - should not use ginseng unless the doctor recommends otherwise.

HOW TO USE
We use two teaspoons of ginseng per glass of water, boil it over low heat for about 5 minutes, then let it infuse. After about 15 minutes, the infusion is ready to drink.
