Description
Black tea Kenia Milima 100g Bio-Flavo
Kenia Milima Tea is a good quality African tea with some golden tips. Infusions are intense, without bitterness and with a delicate aroma. You can drink it alone or with the addition of milk.
Tea is obtained from the Camellia sinensis bush. Black tea is made by oxidizing the green leaves. Oxidation leads to the regression of the catechins present in them, which are converted into theaflavins and thearubigins, which give the infusions a brownish-red color.
Black tea and health
Black tea contains quite a lot of nutrients. Theine (a form of caffeine) plays an essential role, which has a stimulating effect, increases the metabolic rate, improves concentration, reflexes, reduces drowsiness, and improves mood. Black tea also prevents tooth decay (because it contains fluoride), heart disease, atherosclerosis, the development of glaucoma, because it contains a lot of polyphenols. It has been found to have anti-cancer (e.g. in relation to colorectal cancer) and anti-inflammatory effects. When you consume several cups a day, you can increase bone mineral density. Tea refreshes, stimulates, puts you in a better mood.
Substances contained in black tea
Black tea contains a lot of biologically active compounds and nutrients such as purine alkaloids (theine or theobromine being a form of caffeine), amino acids, lipids, vitamins such as C, A, E, K, from group B. There are also minerals such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, aluminum, manganese, iron, selenium, fluorine. Especially important are phenolic compounds such as phenolic acids and flavonoids, of which catechins predominate, which are strong antioxidants with anti-cancer activity.
Polyphenols and their beneficial effects
Among phenolic acids, phenylcarboxylic acids predominate, especially gallic with antioxidant (anti-cancer) activity.< /p>
The flavonoids found in tea are;
a. Flavanols, of which the most are catechins (epicatechins, epicatechin gallate, and especially epigallocatechin gallate) - they reduce LDL cholesterol, have anti-mutagenic properties, lower blood pressure, help fight obesity, prevent cardiovascular diseases -vascular, support the fight against diabetes, accelerate fat burning,
b. Flavonols:
- kaempferol with diastolic, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-fungal properties
- quercetin with anti-inflammatory, anti-atherosclerotic, anti-thrombotic, anti-allergic properties
- myricetin with anticancer, antiatherosclerotic effect
Tea in the kitchen and more
Black tea is poured with boiling water and brewed for 3-5 minutes using 1g of dried material per 100ml of water and brewing only once. Shorter infusions have a stimulating and refreshing effect, while longer infusions put you in a good mood, have a calming and relaxing effect. In Asia, they often use a different brewing, i.e. very much, for half a minute, but giving as much as 3-5g of dried material for the above amount of water. And in this way they brew 2-3 more times, each time about ten seconds longer. The tea is also suitable for compresses that soothe sunburns, perfectly regenerates the skin, reduces puffiness around the eyes.
