Mao Feng Organic Green Tea 100g Bio-Flavo
This Chinese green tea comes from eco plantations, i.e. where pesticides are not used. The phrase Mao Feng itself means "tip of the hair" and is associated with the shape of the leaves, which are slightly twisted. These dark green leaves release an exquisite, beautiful aroma when brewed.
Green tea is obtained from the Camellia sinensis var sinensis bush.
Beneficial effects of green tea on the human body
Tea leaves contain many nutrients, but above all theine (a form of caffeine), which has a stimulating effect, i.e. accelerates heart rate, increases metabolic rate, improves concentration, reflexes, reduces drowsiness, improves mood. Green tea prevents heart and circulatory system diseases, atherosclerosis, and the development of glaucoma. Contains fluoride to prevent tooth decay. It also has diuretic properties.
Substances hidden in green tea leaves
Tea leaf drink has many valuable properties. It contains many biologically active compounds and nutrients, such as purine alkaloids (theine, theobromine), amino acids, lipids, some vitamins such as C, A, E, K, B group. There are also macroelements such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, aluminum, manganese , iron and some trace elements such as selenium or fluorine. But above all, phenolic compounds (polyphenols) are important, and most of them are life-giving catechins, which are strong antioxidants.
Polyphenols and their wonderful properties
Most is f lavanol (up to 30-40% in dry matter!) and of them catechins (epicatechin, epicatechin gallate and especially gallate epigallocatechins), which have anti-atherosclerotic, anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer properties, but also reduce LDL cholesterol, have anti-mutagenic properties, lower blood pressure, help fight obesity, prevent cardiovascular diseases, help fight diabetes, accelerate fat burning . There are definitely less flavonols (quercetin, myricetin, kaempferol), which have anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-fungal, anti-atherosclerotic, anti-thrombotic, diastolic and anti-cancer properties. There are the fewest phenolic acids and the most gallic with a certain antioxidant effect.

Use of tea in the kitchen and more
Green tea is brewed at a temperature of 65-80 °C for 2-4 minutes, pouring 1 g of dried material into 100 ml of water. Good quality tea like Mao Feng can be brewed up to three times. The first infusion has stimulating and refreshing properties, while the next ones are calming and relaxing. In the traditional way, Chinese green tea is poured over for half a minute and then brewed up to five times, but the doses of dried herbs are much higher, as much as 3-5g for the same amount of water. Green tea is commonly used in cosmetology for the production of lotions, creams, tonics and even perfumes.
