Description

Japan Bancha organic green tea 100g Bio-Flavo

Japan Bancha organic tea comes from Japanese organic farming, from the second harvest, and hence the leaves are larger, harder, with strongly marked veins. It has a raw, intense flavor but is mild in action. It contains less alkaloids, theine (caffeine), catechins and tannins than the classic Japanese Sencha. It can be brewed up to three times at 60-70 degrees C.

Green tea is obtained from the Camellia sinensis bush.

The famous pharmacist Chen Zang from the Chinese Tang dynasty described the healing properties of green tea with the words "Each medicine is a specific medicine for one disease, but tea is a medicine for all diseases”

Benefits of drinking green tea

Tea leaves contain many nutrients, but above all theine (a form of caffeine), which has a stimulating effect, and thus accelerates the heart rate, increases the metabolic rate, improves concentration, reflexes, reduces drowsiness, improves mood. Tea prevents tooth decay (fluorine content), heart and circulatory system diseases, atherosclerosis, and the development of glaucoma. It also has diuretic properties.

Substances found in green tea leaves

Tea leaf drink has many valuable properties. It contains many biologically active compounds and nutrients, such as purine alkaloids (theine being a form of caffeine), amino acids, lipids, some vitamins such as C, A, E, K, and B group. There are also macroelements such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, aluminum, manganese, iron and some trace elements such as selenium or fluorine. But above all, phenolic compounds (polyphenols) are important, and most of them are life-giving catechins, which are strong antioxidants.

Polyphenols and their wonderful properties

Polyphenols include:

  • Phenylcarboxylic acids, most of which is gallic acid - it has an antioxidant (anti-cancer) effect
  • Flavonols;

    a. kaempferol with diastolic, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-fungal properties

    b. quercetin  with anti-inflammatory, anti-atherosclerotic, anti-thrombotic and anti-allergic properties

      c. myricetin with anti-cancer and anti-atherosclerotic properties

  • Flavanols (which are up to 30-40% in dry matter), of which catechins such as epicatechins, epicatechin gallate and especially epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) predominate, which is a very strong antioxidant - they have anti-atherosclerotic, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, rejuvenating properties, but also reduce LDL cholesterol, have anti-mutagenic properties, lower blood pressure, help fight obesity, prevent cardiovascular diseases, help fight diabetes, accelerate burning adipose tissue.

Use of tea in the kitchen and more

Japan Bancha organic green tea is brewed at 65-70 °C for 2-4 minutes, giving 1g of dried material per 100 ml of water. Can be brewed up to three times. In the Far East, they use a short half-minute brewing, but they give much more dried material, as much as 3-5g for the same amount of water. You can brew this way 3-5 times, each time about 10 seconds longer. The first infusion has stimulating and refreshing properties, while the next ones are calming and relaxing. Some recommend that the first infusion should be discarded, as it may contain a lot of impurities. Green tea is commonly used in cosmetology for the production of lotions, creams, tonics and even perfumes.
