Description
Rosyjska Karawana black tea 100g Bio-Flavo
Tasty, expressive, intense and I think not for everyone, Rosyjska Karawana tea is a mix of Chinese Lapsang tea and Indian Assam tea. Chinese tea is dried with smoke from pine fires. Hence, when drinking, there is a distinct smoky note, perhaps with a slight hint of pu-erh teas. That is why I write that it is not for everyone, because it is not as delicate as oolongs or green teas. Some (guys?) suggest that it suits men more like cigars or whiskey. Black tea contains a number of biologically active substances, such as polyphenols, of which catechins are the most abundant. And as it is known, they have a strong antioxidant and therefore anti-cancer effect.

Black tea Rosyjska Karawana and health
There are quite a lot of nutrients in black tea. Noteworthy are, among others, theine alkaloid, which is a form of caffeine, which has a stimulating effect and therefore "repels" drowsiness, accelerates metabolism, improves concentration and reflexes, improves mood. Black tea supports the fight against tooth decay (because it contains fluoride), heart diseases, atherosclerosis, and glaucoma. And this is mainly due to the presence of numerous polyphenols. It was also found that black tea has anti-cancer (e.g. in relation to colorectal cancer) and anti-inflammatory effects. By drinking several cups a day, you can increase your bone mineral density.
However, too much black tea in your diet can inhibit iron absorption, so it's not recommended to drink it with a meal.
Substances contained in black tea
Black tea contains a lot of biologically active compounds and nutrients, such as:
- purine alkaloids (theine or theobromine)
- amino acids (e.g. L-theanine)
- lipids
- vitamins like A, E, K, B group, C (but in fresh leaves)
- numerous minerals such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, aluminum, manganese, iron, selenium, fluorine
- the most important, however, are phenolic compounds (flavonoids, phenolic acids), among which catechins, which are strong antioxidants, play a major role.

Flavanols, flavonols, phenolic acids and their beneficial effects
Among the phenolic acids, phenylcarboxylic acids predominate, especially gallic with antioxidant and therefore anticancer properties.
The flavonoids found in tea are;
Flavanols:
- catechins, e.g. epicatechins, epicatechin gallate, but the strongest antioxidant is epigallocatechin gallate - they reduce LDL cholesterol level, anti-mutagenic effect, lower blood pressure, help fight obesity, prevent cardiovascular diseases, help fight diabetes, accelerate fat burning,
Flavonols:
- kaempferol with diastolic, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-fungal properties
- quercetin with anti-inflammatory, anti-atherosclerotic, anti-thrombotic, anti-allergic properties
- mirycetyna o działaniu antynowotworowym, przeciwmiażdżycowym

Tea in the kitchen and more
Russian Caravan black tea is poured with boiling water and brewed for 3-5 minutes. It can be brewed more than once because it is a good quality tea and very intense in taste and smoky aroma. Black tea stimulates, refreshes, puts you in a good mood, adds energy and a "good kick".
