Targroch shelled hazelnuts 500g
Hazelnuts are obtained from hazel bushes (Corylus avellana). They have many health-promoting properties being a mine of large amounts of vitamin E, minerals, fatty acids.

Nutrients in hazelnuts and their health benefits
Hazelnuts contain large amounts of vitamin E, defined as the vitamin of youth and fertility, health and beauty, but also from group B, which, among others, they support the secretion of sex hormones, improve memory and proper functioning of the brain and the entire nervous system. A large amount of potassium lowers blood pressure, calcium is responsible for healthy bones and teeth, magnesium is of fundamental importance in many processes important for life (ATP metabolism). Hazelnuts also contain phosphorus, a lot of manganese, iron, amino acids, fatty acids, a lot of fiber that regulates bowel function and prevents atherosclerosis. They have a low glycemic index (approx. 15), so diabetics can consume it without any worries. They do not make you fat, although they have a high calorific value and a lot of fat, and even support weight loss and prevent type II diabetes.

Hazelnuts and health-promoting polyphenols
Hazelnuts also contain polyphenols, which are the most numerous flavonoids:
- flavonols (e.g. quercetin, rutin) - prevent rapid oxidation of vitamin C, have anti-radical, anti-cancer, anti-allergic, anti-atherosclerotic properties
- -flavanols (catechins) - antiviral, antifungal, antimutagenic, anti-inflammatory, antiatherosclerotic effects
and
- phenolic acids with antioxidant and therefore anti-cancer properties:
- phenylcarboxylic gallic, protocatechic, hydroxybenzoic,
- phenylpropene-coumaric, coffee, chlorogenic.
Polyphenols, due to their strong antioxidant properties, help in the fight against diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases (CVD - diseases of the heart and blood vessels, coronary artery disease, angina), cancer, respiratory diseases (e.g. asthma), Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, the fight against hypertension and high LDL cholesterol, inflammation of the body.
