Description
Inactive yeast flakes 500g Targroch
In order to obtain inactive yeast flakes, beet or cane molasses is added to active yeast (usually Saccharomyces cerevisiae), and when the medium "grows" in this process, it is treated with high temperature to kill the yeast. Then, the obtained semi-finished product is washed, dried, pressed and appetizing flakes are obtained.

Health properties of inactive yeast flakes and contraindications
Inactive yeast flakes contain a lot of fiber in the form of β-glucans, which stimulate the body's resistance against viral, bacterial, fungal infections and even cancer. They help in the fight against stress, support concentration and fight insomnia, lower LDL cholesterol, are useful in diarrhoea. The high content of B vitamins supports the nervous, cardiovascular and endocrine systems. β-Glucans, together with these vitamins and selenium, delay the aging process of the skin and the entire human body. Among the many amino acids present in the flakes, tryptophan deserves attention, which plays an important role, among others in in the synthesis of serotonin, the happiness hormone. Yeast flakes also contain glutathione (a complex derivative of amino acids), which is a powerful antioxidant and helps fight free radicals and protects the body's cells from poisoning with toxins.
Of course, you should not eat flakes in excess, because excess fiber can cause pain, diarrhea, bloating and discomfort. Tyramine present in flakes (derivative of tyrosine amino acid) can cause migraines and headaches. High content of vit. B3 (niacin) can manifest as facial flushing, itching and even cause liver damage. Of course, people who are allergic to yeast should be careful not to experience signs of an allergy. Crohn's disease patients should rather avoid yeast flakes.
Yeast flakes are very healthy and should be eaten with relish, but as with almost everything on our beautiful earth, you should keep their consumption in moderation.
